About Me

Adam, a Portland Real Estate Broker, was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. If you need to know anything about the area, Adam is a great resource of knowledge. Adam is a Portland Real Estate Broker, Argentine Tango dance teacher (and 2016 US Tango Champion), hobbyist web developer, mechanic, and woodworker.

Adam has been a dance teacher for 18 years and a dancer for 20. He started dancing while attending Portland State University and has never looked back. His love for dance is infectious and his passion to share this information has led him to teach thousands of people around the world.

Adam’s goal in real estate is to help individuals and families find their next steps in life. Perhaps that will be into a condo in downtown, a townhome in Hillsboro or a SE Bungalow or anything in between. Whether it’s an investment property, a second home or your forever home, Adam can help you find the home you’re looking for.

From US Tango Champion to Portland Real Estate Broker:

After I graduated from PSU I taught Tango, was an independent massage therapist and worked at a hospital as a monitor technician. I was effectively working three jobs and not getting anywhere. I decided to job hunt for a good full-time position. I found a sales position with a real estate marketing firm. I loved it. I was able to help brokers in their business.

For 6 years I worked on the marketing side of the business when I made a lateral switch to being a Corporate Marketing Director for a hotel chain. After two years I found that my tango business was starting to really become something so I quit the corporate world and followed my tango dream.

I have been living that dream for 8 years. I recently moved back to Portland when I decided that I wanted to do something else. I loved the real estate portion of my past as well as the marketing portion. Putting those two things together is perfect as a broker. So I decided to become a Portland Real Estate Broker and I am loving it.

Helping people sell their homes and buy their next home is so exciting for me. Every day doesn’t feel like work, it feels invigorating. I love working with people and helping them achieve their goals while I achieve mine. I look forward to working with you on your real estate goals and dreams. Helping you find your dream home is what gets me out of bed in the morning.

Feel free to contact me anytime. I am not a pressure salesman, I am an artist and a teacher with the mind of an engineer and businessman and the patience of a grandparent.

Portland Real Estate Broker

What is a Portland Real Estate Broker vs agent vs REALTOR® ?

What’s the difference between a Portland Real Esate Broker, REALTOR®, and agent? As a Portland Real Estate Broker, I am a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, Portland Metropolitan Association of REALTORS®, and the Oregon Association of REALTORS®.

A Broker and an Agent are essentially the same things, they are just different terms used in different states. The term REALTOR®  is often misused as a job title however it is a membership. Not all Brokers are REALTORS® but all REALTORS®  are either Brokers or Agents, depending on their state.

Why are you a REALTOR® ?

I choose to be a member of these REALTOR®  Associations because a REALTOR®  is someone who holds a high standard of ethics for themselves. I pride myself on these values promoted by the National Association of REALTOR®.

What did you do before real estate?

Most Portland Real Estate Brokers choose real estate as their second or perhaps a third career. I worked for 18 years as an Argentine Tango dance teacher and continue to teach dance to this day. I love that career but have always wanted to be in the real estate business. I love homes and I really enjoy making deals.

Prior to real estate, I was a corporate marketing director for Shilo Inns and prior to that, I was a regional sales manager for a real estate marketing firm. I have been in some form of real estate for a while, just not on the brokering side.

What are the areas you work in Portland?

Being from SE Portland I know these areas well. I have lived all throughout SE Portland. I’ve had many friends that live in Gresham and I currently live in Hillsboro and have worked for years in Beaverton. I work a lot from Gresham to Hillsboro.

If you’re interested in something outside of that zone I can certainly help you or refer you to an agent who knows the city you’re more interested in.

Do you work in Portland Commercial Real Estate?

Commercial Real Estate is a thing of its own and I am licensed to work in commercial real estate. I have leased out business buildings of my own in the past. If you’re in need of commercial real estate assistance, give me a call and we’ll meet with my commercial real estate team.

What would you recommend to buyers or sellers about the Portland Real Estate market?

I would recommend to those who are looking to buy or sell a home in the Portland area to consider the current market. As a buyer, there is a shortage of homes. If you are going to make an offer on a home you need to be working with a broker that will work fast and intelligently on your behalf. You don’t want to miss opportunities on a home because your broker didn’t act quickly.

To sellers, this is your time. The market is ripe for you. If you want to list your home, don’t let a broker tear down your price just so that they can sell it quickly to make a commission. You need someone that will strategize for you. The discount brokerages (redfin, zillow, amazon, and others) are going to list your home for a low price but they don’t strategize. They simply list and hope it sells without much work.

As a Portland Real Estate Broker I promise to both work on your behalf and to strategize to get you the best result I can get you. Also, be sure to read this post I wrote about buying and selling in Portland: When is the time to buy?
